On March 23rd, 2023, the Georgia State Capitol hosted 'Go Vote GA Day', a celebration of the efforts of more than 60 nonprofit organizations dedicated to promoting voter registration and protecting the right to vote. The event recognized the hard work and dedication of these organizations, including Georgia STAND-UP.
Georgia STAND-UP is proud to be a founding member of Pro Georgia, a non-partisan alliance of organizations working to promote voter participation, protect voting rights, and fight voter suppression in Georgia. Pro Georgia is made up of advocacy, grassroots, and service-based nonprofits who are committed to ensuring that every Georgian has access to the ballot box and the ability to make their voice heard in our democracy.
CEO of Georgia STAND-UP, Deborah Scott, is a founding member of Pro Georgia and has been a driving force in the organization's efforts to protect voting rights and increase voter turnout in Georgia. Under her leadership, Georgia STAND-UP has worked tirelessly to promote voter registration and civic engagement in low-income and working-class communities.
Despite the challenges faced by voting rights advocates, the 'Go Vote GA Day' was a day of unity and celebration. It was an opportunity to recognize the accomplishments of the non-profit organizations that have worked tirelessly to protect voting rights and to inspire others to get involved in the fight for democracy.
Georgia STAND-UP is proud to be a part of this unique coalition of organizations and is committed to continuing our work to promote economic and social justice in Georgia. We believe that voter registration and protecting the right to vote are essential components of our work, and we will continue to work with our partners in Pro Georgia to ensure that every Georgian has access to the ballot box.
